CAT Question Paper 2019 will be divided into three sections, each consisting 30+ questions in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and non-MCQ format. It will be available with the release of CAT answer key soon after the exam. Since CAT is an online exam, the CAT question paper will be released online in the form of question paper and solutions PDF. Candidates can download the question paper from the official website of CAT by using their login ID and password.
CAT question paper 2019 of slot 1 and slot 2 will be different. Although the exam pattern and test structure will be same, the questions may differ.
CAT 2019 Question Paper and Marking Scheme
CAT question paper pattern has remained the same since 2015. Before that, the number of questions were less (60) and so was the exam duration (140 minutes). From 2015 onwards, the paper has 100 question and the duration is 180 minutes. CAT question paper 2019 too, will have 100 questions spread across three sections – Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The VARC section will have 34 questions – 27 MCQs and 7 non-MCQs. DILR section will consist of 32 questions – 24 MCQs and 8 non-MCQs. QA section will have 32 questions – 22 MCQs and 12 non-MCQs.
The marking scheme of CAT 2019 is same as previous years. Three marks will be allotted to each right answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. Section wise total marks is VARC – 102 (34X2), DILR – 96 (32X2) and QA – 102 (34X2).
There is also sectional time-limit of 60 minutes for each section. The candidates are supposed to solve each section within 60 minutes. The moment 60 minutes of a section gets over, the computer screen automatically moves to the next section. Sectional-time limit for physically disabled candidates is 80 minutes for each section.
Overall, the CAT question paper is usually of moderate difficulty level every year. The VARC section is mostly easy, while DILR section is of moderate difficulty level. The QA section is mostly the toughest section as it is logic and calculation-based.

For CAT aspirants, the importance of question paper is that it helps them in exam preparation. The aspirants can familiarize themselves with the exam pattern and structure by solving CAT question paper and also get to know the type and difficulty level of questions asked in previous years.
